Coil - Colour Sound Oblivion 16xDVD boxed set

Well it's been a long time coming but Sleazy has finally gotten a comprehensive Coil DVD collection together. They were talking about doing this way back when Jhonn was still alive but in typical Coil fashion it took a lot longer than expected!

So we've got fourteen performances with bonus material where they had it as well as two DVDs with all the projections from every song featured as well as instrumental backing tracks which have been registered under a Creative Commons license so "you are free to sample, re-loop and otherwise, "molest" or "interfere" with Coil's music and animations to your hearts content (as long as its not for commercial gain)."

The preorder that's going now is for a rather elaborate deluxe version which includes cloth bags to hold the DVDs, 101 postcards and a few pamphlets. The preorder is open for a month and after that you can buy a less fancy version without the hardcore box, the numerous cloth bags and the numbering.

It's not cheap but considering a) how much content there is and b) how much this sucker will be worth in the years to come, it's well worth the investment if you have the dosh. Check it out at Threshold House

NOTE: As you will see, for all but a few of the shows, these films were NOT shot professionally, but by amateur camera-persons who just love Coil and did not want to lose or forget their experience. At the time I'm sure they did not think what they were shooting would be seen by anyone but their close friends. It's thanks to them this extra-ordinary record exists. They just didn't realise they had so many close friends!

 

In some cases they were the only person shooting, but if the video and audio is mostly okay, and the show was good and different enough we have included it, regardless

Yeah we can pretty much guarantee that the 2001 Moscow show will be on here and that is pro shot and simply astounding! It was one of the Persistence is All shows, in support of Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil so yeah, there was some pretty full-on stuff! 'What Kind of Animal Are You?' in particular is pretty crazy.

Does it come with a pirates hat and treasure map? What about a green parrot?

Bet it doesn't.
