Is there such a thing as a usb adapter to turn an internal PCI card into an external usb device? Google is not leading me to a clear answer.

wouldn't you have to modify the motherboard to accommodate a usb connection in lieu of a pci card? doesn't seem worth the trouble to me what are you trying to do

Whoops, my mistake, I just found the product I was thinking of, and it uses PCMCIA not USB.

i was just given a very fast PC, quadcore with 4gb of ram. the only problem is, it's a slimline case with no expandable PCI slots. I want to use it with my Audiophile 2496 soundcard, but there's no slots to plug it in. I wouldn't have bought a computer with no pci slots, but it was free and it's an awesome computer otherwise.

spend $200 and get a new mobo and case.

PCI needs all sorts of other mobo gubbins to work which is why that PCMCIA thing is stupid expensive.
