Guest Calx Sherbet
oh agreed. i wish i could just put all 13 trax at number 1. it's a wicked album to slow down too. ageispolis is wonderful at a slower speed Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/54380-ambient-works/#findComment-1271583 Share on other sites

I don't know , for me SAW I is an album to sit back , relax and enjoy the rain . Hedphelym kind of ruins the mood for me (Maybe if it was in another album i may like the track more) Edited March 17, 2010 by Boxing Day Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Boxing Day's signature Hide all signatures I HOPE THIS MATCH NEVER ENDS - Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/54380-ambient-works/#findComment-1271590 Share on other sites

Cryptowen
The first time I heard it it was like I had just found the kind of techno I'd been looking for for years but had never found. ...actually, it's probably a good thing I didn't hear it until a few years ago, because the main reason I initially got into music doing myself was because I hadn't yet found any electronic stuff I liked. SR4
green calx albeit a great track completely RUINS the flow of that album....so noisy and jerky I just listened to this on vinyl....turns out there is a lot of surface noise which should piss me off, but I feel it adds a bit to it. Cryptowen
I like Green Calx. I think it somehow manages to keep the ambient vibe even with all of those machine gun high hat lines. Guest hahathhat
where's green calx on the vinyl? is it right before or after you gotta flip it? would make sense to break the halves up i suppose -- it kind of does that for me Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/54380-ambient-works/#findComment-1272399 Share on other sites

gunnar
green calx is awesome. acid squelch, robocop samples, powpow hits and bbrrwaawwrr noises blended with a nice ambient lead. whats not to like Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/54380-ambient-works/#findComment-1272448 Share on other sites

Cryptowen
I for one quite like Ptolemy. It gives me huge 90s nostalgia for some reason (keep in mind I was born in 1991 & probably have a different view of the decade than someone who was actually aware of what was going on in the world/culture), and it sounds like what techno listens to when it wants to listen to techno. beerwolf
To me this album is all about Tha and Helisophan. They are total epics. Tha sounds like a journey through the human body, internal organs and brain. Helisophan always makes me think of flying at high speed across the Sahara desert like a supersonic bird. All other songs are cool too but these 2 top it for me. beerwolf
Would like to add that all the other tracks are not just cool but total fucking brilliance. Guest LucidVibes
Yeah this album is a classic very timeless and spookly ambient at times, while also having uplifting, blissful beauties ie 'Heliosphan', 'Ageopolis','Pulsewidth' and 'Tha'. It seems to capture a unique blend of sounds and expressions and is done extreamly well. I also love Selected Ambient Works vol II, i think even better than the first. Both amazing... <3 Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/54380-ambient-works/#findComment-1273542 Share on other sites
