(actually I dunno, what makes something official anyway ....)

Anyways, I'm having a birthday bash at the Ginglik on 24th April with some mates and thought it could be a good idea for folks round here to have a big ol' meet up and a boogie. On the night is the monthly I Love Acid do which is always a right good laugh even if (like me) you're not really a fan of the whole acid genre.

The night starts about 7/8-ish but the venue doesn't normally start filling up closer to nearer 10 or 11 (but never normally get over packed). More details of the night and the ginglik in general can be found here ( http://www.ginglik.co.uk/?page_id=654 )

(and directions available here)

So yeah, come - it'll be grand  We might try and get the new cubus album finished before the night for some freebie handouts (though I can't guarantee that !)...

Hopefully we can get a whole bunch of watmm uk-posse photos to put up on here after the night

Full details of the night here -

I Love Acid – Third Birthday Party! Balkan Vinyl Label Party!

London’s best monthly celebration of the sound of the TB303, presents a very special Balkan Vinyl label party, with four live acts.

BALKAN VINYL PARTY

Four live acts from UK label Balkan Vinyl, who all feature on the labels 6-part vinyl series, each record themed to a different colour. This is the second Balkan Vinyl party hosted by I LOVE ACID, with Mark Archer, B12, Global Goon, and Richard Wigglesworth leading the line in January this year.

POSTHUMAN

UK techno duo Posthuman play a rare full live set. With recent vinyl releases on B12, Handsette, and Uncharted Audio picking up plaudits & plays from Laurent Garnier, Tayo, Chris Coco, Stanton Warriors, Rob Da Bank, Dave Clarke, DJ 3000, and many more, the pair play a set of bass-driven techno & raved up electro from their upcoming album Syn Emergence.

Check the video for their recent single Lander here:

CURSOR MINER

An I Love Acid favourite, wonky-bass-filth specialist Cursor Miner returns to Ginglik promoting his latest 12” “Shakin’ Heathens / Mad cow’. Expect a full-energy show of the wazziest bass, most spankingest snares, and agricultural funk. Yes, that’s right: Agricultural. You know you want to.

Here’s Mr. Miner in action at his last appearance at I Love Acid, back in November 2008:

SYNTHEME

Planet-Mu’s queen of Acid, Syntheme effortlessly fuses rave, minimal techno, acid and electro, while keeping the dancefloor jumping thoughout.

See her in action here:

DEBASSER

UK Bass don Debasser first burst onto the scene with the anthem ‘Fat Girls’ which was released by the late Disco D’s detroit ghetto-tech label, GTI Records, before being picked up on by Richie Hawtin and re-released on Novamute. Since then, Debasser has cemented his place as one of the leading lights of the UK Bass sound, fusing breaks, garage and electro with the US Booty sound, also establishing his own label WIDE, and picking up fans from Andy Weatherall and Radioactiveman to Deekline and Luke Slater.

Full Members free / P.A.Y.G. Members & guests £6 before 12am, £8 after / 7pm-4am

N.B. I'm not getting anything to plug this or am associated with the ginglik in any way ... It's just that I love it there so much I thought more people here should join in the fun too !

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

Bangface is full of mentals, Ginglik is the gentleman's choice

Note - I have no basis for that opinion

We're the most unorganised bunch of peoples ever. the prospect of sourcing a venue and staffing it, getting people to play and peoples to turn up sounds a little ambitious ... Hell I can't even manage just the last one !

Nice idea all the same !

canada is rad don't you talk shit about canada

I can talk shit about Canada as I live here and the weather constantly kicks me in the testicles. Much the same as you would be free to talk shit about Australia if you felt so inclined to do so. I won't say shit about Australia though except that you guys should chill the fuck out with your game rating system.
