Guest Sprigg
Okay so my Oxygen 8 v2 came today, and the drivers it shipped with don't work with Vista 32-bit SP2. No big deal, I downloaded them off the site, they work. I think. I can't get any sound out of the keyboard in Enigma, and I have no idea how to make it work in FL to control my VSTs... it doesn't show up in 'external tools,' if that's even what I use. Guest Sprigg
Now, I've got it working... but I can't figure out how to record. I click 'record' and select to record into Edison, but when waveforms show up I don't get any sound... Now that I'm looking, I think it happened when I switched to the ASIOv4all driver (which I have obviously installed)... any advice? I'm running this via usb... do I absolutely NEED a midi-out cable to use FL? EDIT: It definitely happens when I switch to the ASIO driver. When I switched back to the normal driver, I was able to hear what I recorded. Guest Sprigg
I've figured out how to get the basic setup.... haven't gotten how to assign different parameters to the knobs yet, or figured out my sound/ driver issues... but at least its somewhat functional Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/54506-oxygen-8-setup/#findComment-1275300 Share on other sites

Naturally, all engines are just shitting out nothing. lol well, I've a oxygen 49 and windows 7 (64bits) and is all working as always, but I'm using a beta ASIO driver from M-Audio forum.. anyway you don't really need asio drivers to use midi over usb; ehm I'm not sure but I think that Cubase use DirectX for midi. oh, and I didn't install anything for oxygen, it was just plug and play Edited March 23, 2010 by pera Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/54506-oxygen-8-setup/#findComment-1277019 Share on other sites

Guest Sprigg
Thanks, Pera. I figured out the assigning stuff... tutorials exist for a reason haha. I was hoping to be able to use FL Studio, as it's the daw i'm most familiar with/ easiest for me to use... but I'm thinking that perhaps ASIO drivers, which it requires for external controllers (unless there's a workaround?) is incompatible with my laptop's Sigmatel soundcard... or maybe I just need to change some parameter somewhere? Hautlle
what happened with ASIO4All? The no sound thing? Guest Sprigg
Yeah. I get no sound from FL when I switch to the ASIO driver from within the program, but I can't find it in my Control Panel to switch from outside FL. It doesn't kick in until you start up a program that uses it. I've had problems with it myself. It used to work (quite well I might add) but then trying it recently it did the same thing as for you: no sound. What version of Windows are you using? Hautlle
Do you know what kind of sound card you have? Apparently ASIO4All doesn't actually work for a lot of cards. Guest Sprigg
I have a Sigmatel something or other. Upon research a few days ago, I discovered that getting it to work with Sigmatels is a bitch... so I may be buying a new soundcard... mostly because I'm too lazy to learn a new DAW at the moment.
