Front Line Assembly joined by Ministry in studio

Side-Line.com / 19 Mar, 2010

Fresh Front Line Assembly news. The band's newest album "Improvised Electronic Device" will be out on Metropolis later this spring, preceded by the single "Shifting Through the Lens". Ministry's Al Jourgensen has collaborated with Front Line Assembly on the track "Stupidity" providing lyrics and vocals. Al Jourgensen also arranged and mixed the track in his studio. The song itself is dedicated to the memory of the late WaxTrax! CEO:s Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher

in my opinion...sweet

There was a time I would have been excited about this.

I haven´t heard a single song from Ministry until month ago.

that's pretty funny - i've just been revisiting the first half (aka 'quality half') of the ministry catalogue and remembering how great some of it was. partly due to reading chris connelly's biography of those times "concrete, bulletproof, invisible and fried". a good read.

i must have listened to 'no name no slogan' 50 times on a loop at the gym yesterday. such a simple yet genius track.

for me, ministry's end-of-line was 'filth pig'. probably before that, actually, but there's a few redeeming tracks on that one. i checked out some of the newer stuff the other day out of curiosity, but it lacks the creativity and originality (subjective as that concept may be in regards to their music) of the earlier stuff. but man, 'rape and honey' and 'the mind...' - such great albums.

a testament to the power of drugs, i guess.

Fucking Ministry, I went to the last RevCo tour and Al didn't even show up for it, and we were in Texas! Old fart couldn't pry himself out of his house.

Positive Metal Attitude

I played a mate of mine Psalm 69 not so long ago. He went fucking nuts over it! Hahah. Mental album that.

Well said. Filth Pig is what turned me away from them. There are a few decent songs, but as a whole I don't like the album. Dark Side of the Spoon was fucking terrible. After that they seemed to return to a harder sound but it was too late, not to mention just trying to relive past glory.

I use to love RevCo too...Linger Ficken' Good was the last one I cared about. Al's not even in the band anymore, in fact none of the guys in the band are original members. Even if Al was, the concept is just no longer relevant.

I've been meaning to check out that Connelly book actually.

Front Line Assembly is still around? I still listen to The Initial Command quite a bit, but most of their music is pretty boring. Especially after they went EBM.

Yeah I never paid much attention to them really. I only have Caustic Grip, Total Terror 1, and a couple of side projects (Noise Unit's Strategy of Violence, Delerium's Karma, and Cyberaktif's Tenebrae Vision with cEvin Key and Dwayne Goettel).

oh snap... this whole time i thought it was "front 242"... i retract my would've been cool in 1992 statement since i never liked frontline assembly.
