how do you make glitch music?

can anyone offer any ideas?

Faulty cables ?

a really slow computer and a cassette recorder...

does anyone think the term glitch these days refers more to the error in the music, rather than the music made from errors? like some of the examples you've given?

i dunno, tim exile, jimmy edgar, edit, mid period aphex twin, early chris clark, wisp's beat editing,

they have glitchy 'error' type bits in their music dont they?

i'm not talking about oval or alva noto, i'm talking about a different kind of aesthetic, decomposition as compositional process, rather than composition from decompositional processes.

it's probably just sample tweaking. get a sampler and fiddle with it.

don't make glitch music - it's a tired and embarrassing genre.

.psd files seem to work here nicely

I like the opposite approach... Not deconstructing and "error" aesthetic... But complex intentional structures.
