whether it's a potato or a nut its a foodage.

you never see an old fella eatin a twix.

his poem "Me Ward" belongs in a fucking smithsonian collection

  Quote
Me Ward

Me, a Chinese fella and an old bloke,

Who looked like Mr Burns from 'The Simpsons',

Don't know what was wrong with him,

But breaking wind was the symptoms.

No one visited him or called him.

He seemed quite lost to me.

As well as wind problems,

He had a colostomy.

When I left,

I said "see ya" to the old man.

Turned out the other fella wasn't Chinese,

He was from Japan.

I never found out what was up with him.

The think that makes those poscasts great is Rickies pig squealing laughter every time Karl opens his mouth.

Yeah what I find frustrating is that if I listen to any of them individually I don't find them funny. Karl by himself isn't that funny cos most of what he says isn't so obviously rediculous until Ricky or Steve points it out. I've always thought Ricky Gervais' stand up is terrible and he always comes across as being arrogant. And Steve's show is just... boring (admittedly I only listened to a couple of them, dunno if it got better).

Put all three together, and I can't get enough of them. Literally. I listen to them more than I listen to music now. I've listened to all the podcasts and radio shows so many many times now. I can't do that with any other comedy.

Really? I don't get the appeal then. I've listened to a few of these podcasts and I find them excruciating. Pilkington's never said anything remotely amusing and it seems like Gervais tries to make funny comments but really he's just pointing out that Pilkington said something slightly zany.

hmmm what i think might be happening there is that you've got a different sense of humour to the people who like them.

I wouldn't agree with that though, the people I know who've recommended it have a pretty similar taste in comedy. I guess it's just lost on me and I kind of hate that.

Also: These people all said something like "You'd love Karl Pilkington, his sense of humour is like yours!" I disagree.

yeah i thought the first three podcasts i listened to were terrible.

Obel I would recommend listening to the first time Karl keeps a diary, episode 8 of the first series I think. It got me totally hooked, it's brilliant.

This whole segment completely killed me first time I heard it.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

[on bike safety] Some people are just meant to die. Fella down the road got hit by a truck. You see, he had a helmet, but his head come off!

[on gay porn magazines] I don't get it. They're filled with pictures of just knob, nothin' else. Why can't they just have a look at their own?
