Analogue Bubblebath 3-4, On EP + On Remixes

Here we are with Week 3! We had a bit more activity with Week 2, here's hoping for even more this time around! We have the heavy industrial and sometimes even trancing beats on AB3, the craziness of AB4, the well-deserved brilliance of the On EP and its remixes. Have at it, men (and Lady Rhubarb)!

reminds me of a scuba diver exploring a sunken ship, and a huge whale goes past him. this probably ties into the nautical vibe i get from the EP. and along with that, the d scape mix makes me visualise a bunch of flotsam floating around in a dank, old ship locker

• .215061 - dare i say better than polynomial-c? yeup. REAL trance music!(2nd favorite track on the release)
   
  
• .1993841 - this is real dubstep! just kidding, but the bass on this song is INSANE. very dark, and somewhere past the 4:40 mark, if your not in some hypnotic state than your letting richard down on this one.
   
  
• .0180871R - primitive, jungley, nasty breakcore with fantastic sounds and vocoder work. richard never ceases to amaze covering many aspects and sub-genres just emerging in electronic music with this release. (4th favorite)
   
  
• .942937 - reminds me a lot of his later works like 'start as you mean to go on'. despite the hardcore beat, the choir sounds are very refreshing, the ambiance abundant, and the bass fantastic!
   
  
• .0180871L - this is one of his best songs ever. never fails to make me move, the way the layers of twisted acid lines tangle into, and fall over one another. its like an inebriating acid waltz. (3rd favorite track)
   
  
• .000890569 - words can't describe the trance this song puts me in. you can tell richard was feeling this one. so glad it has yet to be tainted by the mainstream. that's what i love about these releases, soo freaking underground (5th favorite)
   
  
• .55278037732581 - love this! this could be a caustic window track. very vintage and very abrasive with the acid lines sounding like they were sampled out of some robotic alien spacecraft's alarm system.
   
  
• (CAT 00897-AA1)- perfect track. definitely one of his easiest on the ears songs with a constant beat present. this is the first track i show to new listeners of richard james' music. simply BEAUTIFUL. (1st favorite track)
   
  
• (CAT 00897-A1)- give us more of this straight forward shuffling acid richard! sounds reminiscent of MFM. and any song where he uses a human sample, in this case the "tee hee hee's", is of great interest.
   
  
• AFX 6/B - pulverizing interlude track! recommended at any party to really get the crowds attention. (also; see Elephant Song from ABB4 )
   
  
• (CD Only Track #1) - this reminds me clssic SAW II dark ambience here. love how he throws this gem on the disc only.
   
  
• (CD Only Track #2) - demon shower orgy? fits the spooky vibe from the ambient track just before.
   
  
• (CAT 00897-A2) - mental underwater acid rave? really one of richard's more adrenaline pumping dance tracks, imo.
  

All in all this is a GREAT RELEASE and WELL WORTH THE MONEY.

damn it! i've been so busy i only got to listen to half of SAW 85-92 on sunday.

AB 4 - 10/10 - My favourite Bubblebath by far.

ON EP - 10/10 - INSTANT CLASSIC.

AB 3 - 1/10 - I hate this release.

ON remixes - 0/10 - I hate this release even more.

Not trolling or anything, but I'd like to know why you don't enjoy AB3. I think .215061 and the first few songs are instant classics.

The only track i love from AB3 is .000890569 .

This EP is so messy and ugly , makes me physically ill.

all the Analogue Bubblebath releases are worth my ears.

73 Yips is better and more powerful than Cocaine.

AB3

.215061 - Perfect song here! One of AFX's few forays into trance, I love how AB1's drum pattern is used again, and in better form *dodges arrows* the little melody bit about halfway through is just gorgeous.

.1993841 - Oh lord, what a song. Like Dragon said, it is just so hypnotic and eerie, one of the best "creepy" melodies RDJ has come up with. I just realized that there isn't much of a drum pattern here, except the hi-freq stuff and kicks. Sounds like the lasers from Isopropophlex too, even still has the cut-off laser mixed with the one he lets fade out (genius trick here, he does it all the time)

.0180871R - just dirty and filthy. I love when RDJ uses voice samples - the hee hee hee noise is lolful. if it wasn't for the previous track, this melody would go in his top 25 creepy melodies, easy. it sounds like Richard was feeling really confident in this release, he goes across a good bit of electronic music genres on this EP.

.942937 - We have some I Care Because You Do sounds here! YUMMMM. Sounds like AB1 had a baby with SAWII. Is that a flanger I hear on the main static noise? If so, it sounds good! Beautiful synths here, shows how he can make such a busy and grating sound gorgeous.

.0180871L - Starts off a little meh, but when that little computer-sounding noise pops in, this song becomes a hit. Just so many layers, but he still manages to make it listenable! HOW, RICHARD? Sounds like the machines are fighting with each other, haha. @ 2:30-3:00, wooooo

.000890569 - Lol vacuum. Almost sounds like .215061 at first, but goes a completely different direction. SAW 85-92ish drums on this one make it super duper good. I completely forgot about this one, it's just gorgeous. Those drums are almost some that Zomby/Rustie would use...

.55278037732581 - AW YEAH. I play this every time I go out somewhere. Such a brutal and hardcore track, right from the beginning! Just gets crazier and crazier as the song goes on...does go on just a taaaad longer than it probably should, but it sounds good, who cares? lolz

(CAT 00897-AA1) - Wow, this is just beautiful. Never heard this before until now...reminds me quite a bit of the Fingerbib-ish songs. So many styles on this album...sounds sterile and robotic, but warm and sweet at the same time. The end is sublime.

(CAT 00897-A1) - This don't even SOUND like most RDJ! I want more of this! Lol. He really knew how to work that 303 right in those days. Early UK shuffle? Great track. Ohhh @ 3:20, YEAH

AFX 6/B - MONSTER. Sounds like it should be on Classics.

(CD Only Track #1) - Brooding and haunting ambience, I like it. The voice-y noises make this pretty creepy, I won't lie. I don't listen to much AB3, but I'm loving it so far, a good palette of styles. Somewhere between 1:00-1:30, it sounds like a cup of water is being filled from a faucet.

(CD Only Track #2) - This one creeps me out more than #1. It does sound like a demon taking a shower, lol.

(CAT 00897-A2) - More of that shuffle. You don't hear a lot of that in RDJ's tracks, so glad to have a couple on this release. Sounds pretty nice, especially at 1:00. Yum, turd.

#11 - Very full sound, ambient (almost, idk). SAWII-type synths and stabs, etc. Nice track, Gwarek2 without the painful screams and percussion.

Untitled AB 3.1-#4 - Lol

Overall fantastic album, worthy of praise. 9/10

There's a very fine line between being scared and concerned. Since I don't like sayin I'm scared I say I'm concerned. But you know what? I already might be a little bit scared.

I'm very loudly listening to 73-yips right now. I have synaesthesia, and this track looks so cool! Bright flashes of metallic green as bars skitter across from right to left. There's also some darker green shapes folding into each other. First class track. I think I'll listen to it again, actually.

I gave AB3 another chance , I found a few of gems (.215061 ,.000890569,Track 8 ,9 and 11) .. but my opinion still stands (Horrible album , messy and ugly)
