AVGN appreciation thread

Some people have mentioned the Angry Video Game Nerd, so I wanted to see just how many people here watch this & enjoy it.\\

I was bored one day and started watching video game reviews on YouTube and went through all of "The Irate Gamer" episodes, at which point I noticed countless comments calling him out for plagiarizing the AVGN, so I checked that shit out and was hooked! I've now watched every episode at least three times, lol. The nostalgia factor plus vulgarity lols make this the perfect thing to put on in the background while I work.

My favorite shows are the TMNT review, the joint review with That Guy W The Glasses on the Ninja Turtles rock tour -- hilarious! -- "Bimmy and Jimmy," Nintendo Power, Atari Porn, Double Vision ("Beee Sevuntaeenn Bahhhmurrr!!"), The Wizard of Oz / DSotM video, the German rant in Deadly Towers, and the epic four-part Castlevania review.

Yeah, in 2007 I somehow stumbled upon him and spent a weekend watching all the episodes I could find.

I still keep up to date with the re-releases on Youtube and watch his other projects too.

yeah i'm well into all his shit as well. he's been moaning about being burned out lately so i think we'll only see an AVGN vid from him once a month from now on.

hes going a little too into his own personal life now which i think combined with the longer wait for eps is really hurting his character....but yeah, avgn is awesome brilliant funky.

nintendo power is probably my favorite...but his rant on the control scheme for SNES's Batman Forever made me IRL LMAO....shit is so true.

YES!!! its just so damn funny how he is :

1) dressed in a Batman suit with glasses over the top

2) exceedingly more angry than usual

3) starts twisting the control around his arms like a 5-year old, which is EXACTLY what i did when i played that game in frustration

it almost sounds like he's borderline crying at that part, its so goddamn genius, he keeps yelling "fucking fucked up button combination is fucking stupidly fucking fucked up!", and then he realizes there is no possibly way to accurately portray the anger within him.

my favorite review of his is for Castlevania 2 because most people hold that game in high regard but its actually quite shit and virtually impossible to beat without a cheat guide

Yeah, Yahtzee is funnier generally. But AVGN has more personality.

We all want to have his basement and collection of retro games/consoles too.

while both are absolutely genius, i do also prefer avgn because of the facetime and he seems more like a legitimate nerd venting his 15 plus years of pent-up frustrations

but i love yahtzee's animations and the quick wit....brilliant.

his video on film formats and watching cartoons in 16mm are awesome. you can tell (at least when he isn't AVGN) that he knows alot about shit and loves it just as much

for some reason i'm obsessed with the vaporware that was the SNES cd-rom system. I remember seeing like 3 spreads for it in nintendo power, it was hyped up for a long time

My favorite is his recently Street Fighter 2010, goes thru perfectly how it feels to suck at a game, get good at it, and suck again.

AVGN is hilarious! been hooked on his reviews for about a year now, this guy says some funny shit, and brings back some gaming memories at the same time! I'm not that into James' short films on his cinemasica website though
