Ableton real-time pitch change

Recommended Posts

Guest Retrig

Hi guys. Noob question: In Ableton I'm working on a track with vocals. I want to be able to pitch the vocals down really low real-time without changing the playback speed or having to work with time stretching the vocal back into shape. I own the full Ableton (not Suite). Is there a built in effect that will do it or a VST that anyone can recommend? Thanks!

wait so you want it to play at normal speed then pitch down? you won't find a vst that will do that because real-time pitch shifting sounds terrible.

Thanks guys. The grain delay worked to an extent but I still can't quite get the sound I'm going for. Basically I'd like to do some deep electro type vocals. I record my vocals while playing back the tune, then want to pitch them down while still keeping the vocal length the same.

how is this not real-time?

There is a transpose knob in that ss above that you can map to a knob.

Its in the sample properties instead of the envelope.
