program for recording

basically, i'd like to play dvds on my mac and record the audio into digital performer. for some reason i can't figure this out. i am a n00b saibot, however, please help.

tbh, i don't even have a computer nor have i ever used anything but beta max

and i record on to 77kpbs millisecs drives and view all my music on the latest portable devices with Soundheiser hhd665 head speakers and i can tell you it's superior to vinyl and scientifically identical to what the human ear creates when you shit out of your ears

what's wrong with the recorder in windows.
