well think about it, having the power of sorcery is like having a nuke. Of course, in the case of the nuke, the authorities can just take it and put you in jail. But having the power of sorcery? But seriously, it's still practiced in parts of the South and Midwest in rural or conservative suburban school districts. There was an MTV real world episode where this 18yr high school student got one from this principal in his 60s. It was for smoking on campus or tardiness or something stupid. He did it as an alternative to detention b/c he had work on the weekends.
