Squee
So this... ...is the best fucking effect plugin ever for dub and so on. But now I'm on a Mac and I'm having a hard time finding one that is similair. I've tried the new Amplitube but... argh, it doesn't sound as good. The Virtual Guitarist effect rack has a very analogue sound and that's what I'm after. Help. Squee
Damn, I didn't know Guitar Rig 4 came with this many effects. And this is just the delay/reverb effects: It's kinda expensive though. But thanks! One of the best things about Virtual Guitarist is that it's not a memory hog. Is Guitar Rig easy on the CPU? If cracks scare you, there are tons of freeware vst out there that you could chain, just be creative and spend some time on it, instead of relying on presets! I'm not relying on presets in any way. It's just that the sound of the Virtual Guitarist is just perfect and it's so damn easy to automate. I'll give it a try though. Is Guitar Rig easy on the CPU? Well, NI plugins tend to spike up CPU a lil' bit but not overly so. For instance, with my core 2 duo setup i can run like... upwards to 10-12 massives in a project, and massive is toward the higher end of the CPU-intensive spectrum. Guitar Rig 4 isn't. Extrapolate from this. wahrk
I've been using Guitar Rig for years now. It rocks. There's also the AcmeBarGig collection of free amp VSTs, though a lot of those are for metal. Time (reverb, delay) and modulation (phaser, flanger) effects need not be guitar-specific in my opinion, so it's the tone modeling that really matters in my opinion. mcbpete
Get FreeAmp, it's erm free. EDIT: Damn looks like the site has gone down, there's probably a mirror of the download on KVR. And it's probably not available for your fancy pants macs either...
