good read, although he draws parallels between derrida's hauntology and the wire magazine/simon reynolds definition.

which i feel are very separate things. it's a terrible name for a genre. the wire article he draws heavily on ('haunted audio') is an excellent article though

 

also there's a bunch of factual inaccuracies, the most glaring of which is, if you choose to believe boc, that gyroscope is an actual numbers station recording given to m&m by sean booth shortly after they were signed to skam.

 

edit: the alvarez and doig stuff is incredible, the sort of stuff i'd make if i had the chops and insight.
