Jónsi (of Sigur Ros) - Go

This is him at his most dramatic and over the top and he sings in fairly intelligible english so some snippets of silly lyrics keep seeping into my brain, and almost everything seems to build into enormous cacophonous crescendos. Although it's not a far cry from the last Sigur Ros album it has a different slant on it. I like this a lot and it seems to be getting great reviews everywhere I've looked.

i love sigur ros and riceboy sleep...im not quite sure how i feel about this yet

I think he got away with it, it would be easy for it to sound ridiculous. there are a few bits where he's all layered on top of himself like a chorus of squealing ethereal pale happy ghosts and i like it, and also the percussion gives it a lot of energy. I never heard the riceboy sleeps thing, exactly how ambient is it?

Completely ambient really, no vocals other than subtle background stuff at a couple points. One of my favorites from last year. A lot of processed acoustic instrumentation and some really nice textures going on. Definitely check it out if that sounds like something you would dig...

I got Go yesterday, I think I'm liking it so far. Need to listen a couple more times though, there are definitely a lot of layers going on! Nico's orchestral arrangements are top notch as always.

I'm a total Sigur Ros fanboy, but still. I've been listening to this album like twice a day for the last few weeks. I love it.

i do love the album though. (Tornado <3 Grow Til Tall , Boy Lilikoi etc:)

in fact, purchased the limited edition just the other day. comes with dvd of jonsi performing the album acoustically so i'm looking forward to that :)

Animal Arithmetic is like AC. cool song too.

The album is pretty good. Riceboy Sleeps is a lot better and the best Sigur Ros slays this but it's enjoyable nonetheless.
