Wisp - The Shimmering Hour.

I love this album! It truly is an amazing album.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a copy in a CD store in Toronto. I didn't know they ordered rephlex stuff. I bought it and I very much enjoy it.

The watercolour tree on the back of the cd case is nice as well.

Listened to it recently and I think it gets better with the time. That's never a bad sign.

Last two minutes of keeper of the hills are amazing.

Yeah, The Shimmering Hour is an amazing release,

Every track is amazing, I always listen to it straight through.

I really underestimated Wisp at first, because I had only listened to "NRTHNDR"

But once I heard "The Shimmering Hour" I was blown away, & still love it till this day.

I think We Miss You is the best album he's done since I started having to pay for them

The Fire Above=one of my all time fav IDM tracks evar

I figure these threads would have been good for Shimmering Hour appreciation. But what do I know, I've never even heard the damn thing.

I find Wisp to be underrated.

I'm sort of bewildered that on the WATMM forum where Wisp actually post, there are people that couldnt be arsed listening to him.

There's a gazillion artists in this world...hundreds of which I plan to eventually listen to. But there's only so much time in one day.

And I have heard some stuff: Building Dragons a few times, NRTHNDR and Honor Beats probably once each. None of it has stuck with me enough to really invest too much time yet though.

"the fire above" is one of those tunes that reminds you how fun and brilliant idm can be......

its all about that first drop... could listen to that over and over again..... plus extra kudos for "the hobbit" samples

have to admit though maybe i started at the wrong place, got into the "the shimmering hour" then "we miss you" and am used to that calibre of wisp track now so have found it quite hard to get into any of his earlier stuff

I was actually listening to TSH when I found this thread.

There's a lot of good music on and from watmm that often gets overlooked. Same with mixes.

However there is a gigantic thread from upcoming releases in which this album was discussed, and gathering from that, there are indeed a lot of people that like wisp.

nice melodic 'tunes' but does sounds a little flat and nothing new sound wise

however it still doesn't stop this being a cracking debut album which reminds me I'm going to have to shop at Rephlex

Not his first release ever, just first Hardcopy Release off of Rephlex Records.

I bought shimmering tree, and really enjoyed it.

I recently got the We Miss You download album, burnt it to CD, and only played it once in the car. Think I need to give it some more time....

It was Wisp's first Hardcopy Release off of Rephlex Records.

Not his first release ever, just first Hardcopy Release off of Rephlex Records.

First on Rephlex doesn't make it a debut.

NRTHNDR and Honor Beats were released on CD on Sublight...don't those count?

...and Katabatik was released before TSH.

indeed. i just bought it along with some other goodness that i will post in the recent purchases thread when i receive them
