Any news on Murcof - Océano?

Hey,

I'm on a complete Murcof trip at the moment. Desperately waiting for the new Océano album. Does anyone have any information on when we can expect it?

Downloaded the 2009 Leaf sampler "Don't run over the Birds, please." which has "Murcof - Excerpt #1", afaik it is an Océano outtake. Pretty good one.

Hey, as the next album starts with "O" and only "F" is left then, we should see only 2 Murcof albums... Hopefully he does not stop making music then, because his quality is consistent.

My all time favorite is Urano. I basically love all tracks of him. Memorable is "Mao", which is on the Static Disco release of Martes (not on the Leaf CD). There's also "Minda" btw, which resides after the last track on that CD, Maiz.

I trust Mr. Corona and I will let him take his time regarding Océano. There is no point in forcing him to release this album really soon, considering he produced 2 albums outside of his M-U-R-C-O-F series in 2008 and 2009 (ie Versailles Sessions and La Sangre Iluminada).

Murcof is awesome, quality stuff

I love Cosmos a lot, but I think its a bit underappreciated

Pretty excited to hear Oceano as well

I hope before he finishes the F album he will change his name to Murcofauwidzlynktshx

I love all of it. Every release he's done, I think they're all fuckin wonderful. I read a lot of hatin on Versailles on this forum, which weirded me out because although it's quite different to the rest of his catalog I think it stands up really well and goes to some immensely dark places (which I like plenty)

I read somewhere that Océano is going to be more electronic/glitch/techno than Cosmos, which is a shame as I was really enjoying the more classical direction.

I haven't heard the other ones yet, might have a gander if this record's going to be a while in coming out.

Cosmos is amazing, and so were the videos someone posted in the other Murcof thread. Really looking forward to the new one.

It'll most likely be something like this...

...which suits me perfectly!

So, I'm weird with Murcof. I love both Martes and Remembranza but when I hear people talking about his music, recommendations or reviews I always think it sounds like shit and never buy it. It took me ages to get around to buying Remembranza, I finally caved because Squee kept telling me to and this was just before Cosmos came out. I've still never heard Cosmos. What a prick eh?

Just make sure NOT to listen to The Versailles Sessions and everything will be good.

I currently love Oort from Cosmos very much. Sounds like the perfect soundtrack to a movie :emotawesomepm9: It shivers around until suddenly it exposes its real darkness :spiteful:

Its weird when you are not repaired for it. You just sit there and think yeah nice space chillout. until suddenly... :spiteful:

this is what makes murcof superior to other composers he just adds a little bit more of everything

I with aphex had elements of this in his music. this would be some awesome collaboration.

Btw, for those of you can't get enough of Murcof's stuff make sure to look into his La Sangre Illuminado soundtrack. There are some killer tracks on that album
