RSS readers

Do any of you use an RSS Reader? Are they useful? I use a mac, so if anyone has any good ones that are worth using, do tell!

i only use rss feeds for low volume sites that i may be interested in reading, but won't read everyday. friends blogs, etc.

incidentally, in my last job the news team got most of their breaking news from other news organisations' twitter feeds. didn't seem to use rss at all. i used rss a bit though. you can set up google alerts to send stuff to google.com/reader.
