Dr. Dre - Detox

Figured I'd get this thread going. I'm excited!

Recent news suggests the first single featuring Jay-Z called "Under Pressure" should be out within a week or so.

Yes! Dre has always been a legend. Even if you are not a huge fan of his music its still interesting from an academic perspective. Even when he samples he still manages to turn them into hit records.

I can still put on The Chronic and it still sounds fresh 20 years later.

loved everything he's done, and am looking forward to this album if he ever manages to release it. not too excited about Jay-Z being on it, though.

The Chronic and 2001 are both all time favorites and absolute classics to me. Been waiting for this since about 2007 when it was supposed to surface....still waiting...

was reading an interview with him where he states he was listening to lots of Kraftwerk and other old 60's and 70's electronic music before producing the tracks for Detox. interesting to see how it pans out.

dr. dre is not that relevant to me anymore, and he can't top the original chronic imo

about time he put his own vocals on his shit again.

he's working with a ton of producers on this album. i'm not sure how i feel about him potentially watering down the strongest aspect of his music with lesser beatmakers. i'm looking forward to the rza collab -- like everyone else -- but it'll probably ruined by the spoken word from that floetry bitch.

i honestly cannot write an entire post about hip-hop without throwing in some misogynistic remark. it's not a conscious thing.

Dr. Dre doesn't even produce anymore. This is going to be like The Firm or that horrible Aftermath compilation. I'm crossing my fingers though.
