*Extremely limited new vinyl-only LP from Demdike Stare, the first in a series of three to be

released this year - taking in broken sound experiments, unfurled dub and haunted strings...*

Lancashire's sons of occult darkness push off into the night with the first in a triptych of spellbinding

vinyl-only LP's. 'Forest Of Evil' is a direct elevation and expansion of the ideas expressed on the

debut album, 'Symbiosis', literally breaking down multiple elements to run as two extended

pices - one on each side, giving more scope to suck us into an abyssal

vortex of inky blackness without interruption.

do you have the osmosis mix CD, troon? that's also very good

i should have already considering i was following it's release so closely but sadly it never quite made it in my ears.

i will make osmosis one of my next purchases (along with forest evil).

I intend to track down 'Osmosis' when I free up some cash again, I liked the stuff compiled on 'Symbiosis'. Hope they relent on the 'vinyl only' bit with this one.

I really liked the Osmosis CD, nicely eclectic and almost entirely unfamiliar to me (from what I remember, I only recognised one track by Aphex and one by Shackleton over the course of the entire hour)

And Symbiosis was great, of course...

Yep , great mix. Boomkat is selling it cheap right now if anyone is interested:

Ace, thanks a lot for the heads up (and not for the first time  ). Less than a fiver with postage, I couldn't turn that down.

No prob, I remember jumping on it right away when I saw it on Boomkat (bad exchange rate and all) thinking "this will sell out quickly!". Maybe they just pressed up a few too many. It is a sweet mix though!

What's the name of the Shackleton track? It's the one 53 mins in, right?

yeah, that's the one - it's There's A Slow Train Coming, from Three EPs

i really want to listen to forest of evil. i finally got my ears on the osmosis mix and to be honest i was alittle ho hum

about it. maybe i will grow to like it more. i am so completely and utterly taken by symbiosis that it

is hard to compare-but i felt like osmosis was a bit drab.

if anyone gets a listen to forest of evil please observe and report
