3D Hi Def Television

Recommended Posts

at the movie theater this weekend, there was a truck trailer set up demonstrating Panasonic 3D HDTV, it was my first chance to see the tech in person. i must say they are on the right track, although i'm sure it will take a unified 2nd gen for manufacturers to really get the public on board with upgrading to yet another new television. both my TVs are less than 3 years old, so it will be quite a while before i even consider it. 2 movies playing were Monsters vs. Aliens and clips from Avatar, and both looked phenomenal. the glasses need to be made lighter, as they were heavier than the ones you get at the theater. they should really be showing some of the upcoming PS3 games to be in 3D, as gamers are some of the first people to spread word of mouth and adopt the latest and greatest. if you see a demo in your area check it out, but you really need a darkened area to get the optimal effect.

that's probably cause the 3D was added in post-production. with all the studios getting a hard on after avatar raking in a shitload of cash they are now going to churn out badly converted 2d->3d movies and the cinema going public is going to get sick and tired of it before the movies that are natively filmed in 3d are out.

Bah, I suffer from migraines (like full on losing 90% of your vision and getting numbness in my arms and headcrushing pain type migraines) and the 3d glasses you get at cinemas now don't cause me any problems at all.

Still would rather not have to wear the glasses for 3d tv though....

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

the 4th Resident Evil film Afterlife is filmed with the Avatar camera system, so it will probly be the next good 3D movie, not sure what they are using on Tron Legacy but i doubt Disney will risk fucking that up.

that was actually pretty good.

yeah!!!

but even if you film mona lisa or any of those paintings with a 3D avatar camera, you'll never have the 3th dimension, only if you film a 3D environment :orly:

yeah, about the headaches - we need everything to be filmed in at least 120 fps... jeez that tech is slow on the uptake isnt it
