i really hope his next release is more ambient shit or else im gonna kill my dog

i guess i can maybe relate to finding ambient music more interesting. but i don't think drukqs or ICBYD are boring.

I agree with it : ICBYD is one of a very few albums I don't listen from the beggining to the end. But the tracks I dislike are only 2 or 3 (depends of the weather), and I really love the others.

drukqs took like 5 seconds for me to love it

first 5 sec of vordhosbn (after the beat actually comes in), i had to know wtf this music was.

believe it or not i was turned on to aphex watching a WoW pvp video

there are a handful of gems on Drukqs which have taken everyone the best of a decade to catch up with but I can't help feel that some of the other tracks were just the same stuff he was doing on ICBYD machine-gunned with VST FX which is more showing off than anything inspirational

anyhowz like I said Drukqz is almost decade old now

if you don't like those two albums, I dunno what to tell you...

When I first bought Drukqs I only heard SAW 85-92 and ICBYD, so I saw the cd and thought "Aphex!" and I got my dad to buy it for me. On the way home we put the cd in and his expression was like and I was like and then I didn't listen to the cd for at least another six months or so

and then I listened to the piano tracks

and now I listen to the fast tracks

Being a WATMMer may not help the cause. I presume you read so much about these albums on the net before you have heard them, that you build it up so much that when you actually play them you are only going to be dissapointed. To much hype leaving the experience deflating.

Some of the best albums (including aphex) I have ever heard have been ones I didn't know too much about. Sometimes the internet can spoil that magic. Too much information spoiling the discovery of the unknown.
