Animated .Gifs in Photoshop

it's all about showing and hiding layers.

 

you basically copy paste your image into as many layers as there will be sequences. each layer is a step. then you adjust whatever is animated on each layer, so for instance if something moves across the image you would slightly nudge it on each one.

 

then you open the animation palette. make as many frames as you have layers. on each frame, make a new layer visible.

 

so if there are 5 layers there should also be 5 frames. Frame 1 only has layer 1 visible, frame 2 has layer 2 and so on. You can get a tad more complex with it later on.

there's a quick option once you have the animation palette open to "create frames from layers"
