Guest bigs
soooooooooooooooooooooooo, here's the deal: this is the intro to a little project i'm working on that's some kraut-rock-inspired mumbojumbo centered around an interesting adventure i had in central park. i have a nasty problem where i'll be jamming for like 2 hours, coming up with a full song's worth of melodies and beats but then, when it's time to organize all my ideas into a song, i stagnate and stick with some loops. this is, more or less, the result of one of those sessions. it's not edited or mastered (sneaks, i'm sure this fact will stab you in your ears ), but, hopefully, this will get fixed when i decide to pull the tracks together! regarding its repetitiveness, i kind of like it because its a nice way of setting the tone. the other tracks will go somewhere, i swear! so, if you've read all that rationalization and can still stand to listen, here's the glorious little track: link to soundcloud lots of reverb here. probably too much. i like it. i really like how lost it feels until the beat drops in. comments, etc. are always appreciated. At any rate. There are some good ideas here, but imma be helpful. The drums.... Weak. I dunno if it's your samples or the mix, but they are so "un-punchy", that if you dropped them from a building, they would give a quiet "squish" when they hit teh ground. A bit un-satisfying. Also, the arrangement is a little boring. That one lead is too loud, although that may be on purpose... Reverb is nice. I like big verbs. If the drums sounded better, the whole thing would be better though, right off the bat. sneaksta303
not even mastering but general mixing. A good mix requires little mastering. what Daw do you use? Live? Guest Scrambled Ears
atmosphere is nice but ya beef up those drums and watch the volume on that lead at around 1:20 in fact maybe consider changing the feel of that lead altogether. for me it really ruins the bizarre groove that was going on before Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/55728-central-park/#findComment-1310603 Share on other sites
