I Normally Don't Actively Ask For Donations, But...

UPDATE: Enough donations came in to cover the hosting costs until JulyTHE NEXT SIX MONTHS, so a big "thank you" to everyone who donated!

Normally I foot the difference (if any) of the hosting bill each month minus the donations that have come in to cover the 40USD it costs to keep WATMM on a stable server where our mindless posting doesn't eat up so many CPU cycles that we get kicked off (as with past non-dedicated hosting). Some months I pay the entire bill.

However, the Joyrex Family is on a strict budget, and recent car repairs, unforeseen expenses (thank goodness for some semblance of a savings) and having just paid all our bills and did the shopping does not leave any discretionary monies for me to take care of the current 20USD balance for this month's hosting (a generous donation of 20USD came in last week, taking us from 0 to 20USD).

I know money is generally tight with everyone these days, so if you can spare a buck or two, or whatever you feel you can afford and want to contribute, please use the Donation button located on the forum index page (in the sidebar on the right; if you don't see a sidebar, you might have collapsed the sidebar at one time in the past - just look for the arrow on the right at the top of the main forum index to expand back). You can also consider getting one of our Subscription packages that allow enhanced features on the forums via the Subscriptions link at the top (Subscriptions are for 1 year, and do not auto-renew) and that also helps out WATMM while also giving you a little something in return.

LOL, we should have bi-annual Pledge Drives like PBS and NPR do - we could have coffee mugs and other things as membership premiums!

And if you've contributed in the past, or recently, my thanks goes out to you - I try and respond to every donation email personally, letting you know my appreciation for keeping WATMM going.

There's actually a pretty slick Donation Meter addon for the boards I'd like to get one day, that would let people know at a glance how far we are to each monthly goal - but it costs money too. Someday!

FWIW, LTM members have been the highest and most frequent contributors to the site, since by extension they valued what the site provides long before they became LTM.

No, I'm saying you should be held accountable to the fact that this forum is really a festering shithole compared to what it was a few years ago and that is, in part, due to all the petty banishments and creating a separate, private, forum of semen swappers.

I was once in that club of semen swappers and it only further diluted the already weakening content of the forum.

ORLY? I don't recall you being in LTM... unless you're someone else, and if that's the case, then we'll solve that problem pronto. I keep pretty good logs of who donated and when, so let me just get your email addy from the db and see what PayPal has to say about your donations.

I also have no problem with people expressing criticism, but not when I'm asking for donations, something I don't like to do really, but don't have a choice this time around.

No, but you can change your title under your avatar to whatever you wish. As for your Members Group status, you can consider a Subscription that would change it to Members Plus, Knob Twiddlers, or EKT Plus.
