For sure - if you got the US version of In sides (it's the last track of the bonus disc). Check out Snivilisation though. Definitely in that style. oh also, middle of nowhere is pretty underrated i think - but is a great album from orbital. In Sides is their best album though imo Edited May 4, 2010 by Guest Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/55946-orbital/#findComment-1315509 Share on other sites
YEK
brown bad? no way i haven't listened to all of their stuff but the green album was one of my first techno albums, some great tracks on that. Guest plok
agree about middle of nowhere in particular tracks 2 and 3. especially track 3. orbital 2 (brown) is good too. "girl with the sun in her head" used to be my favorite track from this album but was listening the other day and would have to say that "out there somewhere p.2" surpasses. halisray
i never said it was bad - just doesn't compare to In Sides, in my opinion. It's still amazing! Probably sounds the least aged of all the orbital albums (besides "In sides". springymajig
Snivilisation definitely, In Sides and Sniv ar the essential Orbital albums, the two they will be remembered for. I personally like Snivilisation a little bit more, it's a bit weirder, reminds me a little bit of the film Brazil. Middle of Nowhere is also similar in style but a lot more goofy and fun in atmosphere. Snivilisation was my all time favourite album for ages... long time members of this forum might remember my blind obsession with it :P Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide springymajig's signature Hide all signatures My music: Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/55946-orbital/#findComment-1315615 Share on other sites
purlieu
Yeah, Sniv is a bit more claustrophobic and weird sounding than the epic/film score touches of In Sides, The Middle Of Nowhere is more of a poppier version. Both worthwhile. I'm also going to stick my neck out and recommend Blue Album, because it has Transient, Lost and Tunnel Vision on it which are probably the nearest to In Sides material they've done since. Some of the other tracks aren't as good but it's worth a listen for those three.
