internet not good for music journalism

one Christopher R. Weingarten does a mildly entertaining high energy rant against internet.

he sure delivers a few points…

…but isn't this whole pop music thing losing much of its teenage identity struggle relevance to video games and other futuristic things anyway?

I enjoyed the rant, because he IS spot on about the blog / internet music culture, but that doesn't mean I'd rather read Rolling Stone. Fuck that shit.

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

well i used to. But that was back in 2002/2003 when i was looking mostly for obscure experimental bands which were unknown to anyone i had contact to at the time, and the internet was still largely a hostile alien landscape to me.

seemed like a good idea to read the digests of people in the know, and i've ordered some interesting CDs just based on a interesting review.

how things have changed…

but this guy here is going on about pop writing, which indeed seems like a dead thing just as pop itself innit, it simply doesn't matter anymore.

What is with the swearing? Instead of coming across as an intelligent individual with a valid point or two, he looks like a baby throwing a tantrum saying fuck this and fuck that. He shits on the literary competency of college students and proceeds to rant like a third grader.

Indie rock, lol. He's angry because someone would rather use a machine's recommendation than read his sage "indie" wisdom. Someone escort him back to his time machine and kindly ask him to go the hell back to 1994. Math rules all industry. Why? Cause money = math and cash is king, no?

he makes good points but he should realize it's all up to the consumers.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!
