I'm a big underdog fan myself and I make no exception for Courtney Love. Undoubtedly she can say some idiotic and very vain things but I judge her primarily by the music. Aside from that I couldn't really care who she offends. I'm even one of those people that think there is more to Kurt Cobain's death than is known to the official investigation and whether or not Courtney is part of that, I haven't completely ruled it out. To me though, even as somewhat of a Nirvana fan, if she was responsible for his death in some way then to have kept it relatively under wraps for this long makes her more intriguing to say the least.

Without getting into writing and ghost writing credits, the Live Through This album is an all time favourite of mine, it has sold platinum and according to the wiki 'The album received unanimous critical acclaim, and was regarded as Hole's greatest album, as well as one of the greatest rock albums of the 1990s.' Notably that isn't sourced from anywhere but regardless, Live Through This and Celebrity Skin sold a shitload of units worldwide without being generic pop music. For this reason, I figure she is at least commendable for having fronted the Hole project.

The entertainment industry wouldn't be half as much fun without the 'bad guys'

i just re watched the nick broomfield doc 'kurt and courtney' not too long ago and i can safely say that she had nothing to do with his death. im sure she contributed in the sense that shes was completely nuts and pushed him that much closer to ending it, but other than that she had had nothing to do with his death.

but on another note, i will say that the doc made me appreciate the band earth's music that much more. really some striking music and i can see where sunn o)) get their influence from

In my opinion that documentary is a bit of fun but despite appearences its incredibly lacking as far as contributing to a case for or against Courtney's possible involvement. Don't get me wrong, I like Nick Broomfield and I like that doco.

I recommend Justice For Kurt for the most definitive collection of reasons why the case should be reopened and why Courtney's behaviour and statements seem questionable to extent. I had a quick look then and it has been a while since I visited but one of the best things that is on there is Tom Grant recalling going searching for Kurt with Courtney in the days before he was discovered. I believe it was part of a reasonably large PDF refered to as Tom's case study but at a glance I couldn't see it.

I can't bring myself to see the video but i skipped through this episode of jools on the iplayer and i briefly saw her describing herself as a tormented poetic soul who writes poetry for a living. I dont think i want to watch the rest.
