Yeah, was gonna ask you guys what you thought about the whole cassette thing.

tapes degrade worse than vinyl over time, you can't dj with them, queuing a track in general is almost impossible, and most importantly, they sound like ass. it's a packaging\trend decision.

If it aint vinyl, I'm not having it... sad shame though, I dig him.

Well... While I mostly agree with this, in the defense of the cassettes I've purchased, they have been mixtape-style dirty sound collages. I'd assume the degradation of tape would only add to the dirty texture in time. Shit's raw. It forces a certain listening habit as well. I'm much more likely to listen to a side from beginning to end.

most people are going to be ripping this to mp3 or at least downloading the mp3 version, so i'm not sure if the already-questionable 'pleasing degradation' argument holds up.

plus, who wants to keep around a cassette deck just for the off-chance that one of your favorite artists releases something on tape?

I just plug my monitor speakers into my walkman on my desk.
