Live drummer playing along to track

ok ok... ive got a band thats about to start playing live gigs... and seeing that the band only consist of 2 guitars and drums we wanna play along to the bass and synth that ive programmed on my comp.

the problem is that i dont wanna use the computer on stage... i dont really trust them to much! jejeje

so whats that gadget called??? the one where i can run the tracks for the drummmer with a click and on another track have the track gong minus the click for the audience

im sure theres a gadget that specially dedicated to this sort of task but im just dumbfounded right now as to what its called...

one of my bands did this 4 years ago with mp3 players/laptops to a mixer

the way we did it so you can use an mp3 player for back up or whatever is we had our backing tracks the hard right of a stereo wav and the click all the way hard left so you could split em and the drummer could listen to both/change the panning on his mixer whatever and just send the house mixer the mono backing track

you can if you have a laptop with an interface that has multiple buses for outputs obviously

but yeh being able to this with an mp3 player in mono is convenient though

Though do I interpret right that you want to play to a recorded track? Like an MP3?

For anyone else reading this... I actually have a similar issue. I play in a band where we have a live drummer and a bunch of analogue gear. To get a click we'll usually put hi hats in a set of headphones, but its a terrible waste of an instrument. I want to get a hardware device (like the click kicker) that does it... but that click kicker is $289. Might just be the price of getting something dedicated like that... but I figured it'd be less expensive for just a click device. :)
