posture
I've only heard stuff from Martin Denny, Esquivel and Les Baxter but I'd consider it some of my favorite music outside of my typical Electronic Music listening habits. The stuff Esquivel was doing with stereo is/was amazing, when you are listening to it loud as fuck on a good system or on some nice headphones it just has an amazing punch to it. Martin Dennys stuff is more relaxed and whenever I hear his stuff I always think of the opening music to Pee Wee's playhouse (Not the Cyndi Lauper theme, the music that plays before that). Anyone have more recommendations? If I wasn't so lazy and tired right now I'd post some youtubes of some good tunes. Guest tht tne
i love stereolab but my few half-penissed attempts to d/l satisfactory amounts of space-age pop have been the fail Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/56323-exotica-lounge-space-age-pop-space-age-bachelor-pad-music-ect/#findComment-1326654 Share on other sites
joshuatxuk
I love Les Baxter. At the University of Texas I had a musicology professor who was obsessed with the genre. Rephlex put out albums for Gentle People and Slipper, the former are pretty solid exotica. Guest KY
i think i'm (somewhat) interested in this music through my interest in library music. i'd definitely say i'm a dick hyman/mort garson/enoch light fan, but i haven't explored this era/genre too much. for what its worth though, absolutely fucking love the command record sleeve designs: Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/56323-exotica-lounge-space-age-pop-space-age-bachelor-pad-music-ect/#findComment-1326735 Share on other sites
