ebb and flow I say. Christianity certainly has played a large role in the founding of the US and still plays a large role in the way many people live, govern, and do business. Nothing wrong with it being talked about in a history class. Kids will still think for themselves, and they always have the internet to find information on whatever they are thinking about. History is always being changed or *updated*. I mean Christopher Columbus discovered America and set up the first hot dog stand in NYC right?

the Texas School Board dictates what the curriculum will be for the entire state of Texas. Because of the purchasing power that Texas has, many textbook manufacturers produce books aimed for that market, resulting in other smaller markets having no choice but to purchase textbooks that have been altered to suit that market.

they're not just including christianity, they're replacing whole sections of history with it. for instance, they want to remove thomas jefferson from their textbooks and talk about aquinas and calvin instead. it's not right.

heh . . this is actually a very "progressive" and accurate stance, which is interesting. we're still a ways from "equal outcomes" (wtfkorbit that means anyway).

Every time I think about moving to another state I read an article saying Texas has one of the strongest job markets in the US.

Cost of living is cheap, but having lived there 14 years, for me it's not worth it. Too fucking hot, too fucking flat, too many fucking idiots.
