Any nice BoC Fakes/Soundalikes/Creations of your own?

Recommended Posts

I need to score a 1960's style presentation-video for a (fictional) nature reserve.

The finished video should be about 60-90 seconds long.

I think I will be going to use some existing footage mixed with some I recorded myself, forest, happy father-and-son wildlife experience, that kinda stuff, with a voice talking about the beauty of nature, something like that.

The music as well as the images need to be copyright-free, that's why I'm asking. I'd love to have something in the spirit of the

, Wildlife Analysis, Heard from Telegraph Lines or the non-beat-bit from Whitewater. A "jingle" like BoC sampled (?) in Red Moss (0:00 - 0:04) would also be awesome to accompany the nature reserve's logo.

If anyone has produced or knows something similar to this (royalty free), please post it here. I'll take anything.

(The resulting video will be playing in a loop on a tv for people to see before they enter an area where they will attent something much more sinister :spiteful:, I can't give that away yet though ... )

Maybe somewhere in the middle of the track might work for you.

Ha! Sounds like BoC if it were made all on digital gear.

Well done!

I have a few more that might lend themselves to this project....

Sorry some are in WAV... but give 'em a listen, I can pretty much edit any one of them to suit your needs.

Wow this might just be the one already! :emotawesomepm9: Sounds very much like I imagined! (Except I imagined completely beatless but this might work just as well)

Not sure if I will actually use it but I certainly got an idea because of it. A rather horrible one too, thank you

That's fine. Good considering the editing too.

Maybe you could throw a 8 stepper on this.

Sorry, I haven't got a clue what an 8 Stepper is ... ?

indeed!

Would anyone be offended if I edited their tracks a little further, like, make the pitch wobble at a few points for an extra broken-old-tape-effect?

These sorts of things are created from scratch by Boards, (there wouldn't be much point in just sampling it...)

That little jingle continues to ring in my head, it's like opening the doors from a smelly old gym into the vast, sunny and blue skied outdoors (which Red Moss reminds me of)...

You guys know that feeling where you are just super happy to be outside, just in t-shirt after a long winter..? That to me is Red Moss.

So the end of Balloon is not a sample of Timeless but a re-recording? Above Balloon, Timeless, my lame approximation.

sounds like you just want some beautiful ambient stuff. Here's some of my own stuff I uploaded just for the occasion:

Originally, that second copy was a download link, but the board seems to be autoconverting it to a media tag now...

I ripped off of elements of boc in my contribution to the Antarctica tribute, but it might not be boccy enough.

Proves how well they did it. I thought it could have been a sample of an original airing company's logo.

October is here and the day of the project taking place is coming closer. We're still working on it, in fact, we've just started to do the actual work. Since there are so many different aspects to this project, I tend work a little bit on this and a little bit on that, so I got lots of half-finished things, and the video is one of them. I have settled with

and I think it's coming along really well. But now I'm looking for something else, and I didn't want to open a new topic for this request:

I am looking for an additional track, for another part of the project. I need a 1930's/40's/50's style (or even older) swing/jazz kind of track, very much like the songs used on Bioshock. The exact genre or year of origin isn't important, as long as it reminds you of "the old times".

E.g.:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AkLE4X-bbU

I wonder, are there any tracks around that by today have an expired copyright, or aren't copyrighted at all? I'd also be happy to use something newer that's been inspired by the time period. Tracks with vocals are preferred, but not mandatory.

(This is for the same Nature Reserve thing, so the "dog in the window" song would be a bit random considering it's dealing with domesticated animals which is not very wildlife-message-y at all, but whatever)
