I'm undergoing acupuncture treatment for my pinched nerve and my anxiety.

I've done one session and it was a very nerve racking experience overall but I feel different for sure. I'm a little more calm and collected, I think after a few sessions it will be more effective than any pill I've taken. My nerve is still pinched however, that may take more time.

i've always thought this was pretty much bullshit -- just above snake oil and homeopathy -- which had been tolerated by the WHO for reasons of cultural sensitivity. but i have a couple on-the-level friends who swear by it, so it's at least effective at inducing placebo.

how expensive is it, and does your insurance cover it? there's just so little evidence that it's effective beyond placebo, and most medical researchers want it to go away.

I've thought about getting it because of the clavicle surgery I had a few months ago. I had to wear a sling for a few months and I've got nothing but knots in my upper back/neck area. I'll definitely get a massage, but need to do some research before trying the acupuncture.

Yeah ditto, I didn't think it had actually had any proven benefits. I'd like to be wrong about that though ....

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

i had it when i did my lower back in. it worked amazingly well after some rigorous physio and massage. (half hour massage/physio followed by half hour acupuncture)

i found it very relaxing and could feel an intense heat building up like a heat pack had been applied... the concentrated heat remained for about 4 hours after treatment and after dissipating my back felt loads better. i could almost feel my blood concentrating its healing power right where it needed to be.

in my experience acupuncture is brilliant.

i think the kind where you stick needles in your anus to cure a sore head etc seem harder to comprehend but our nervous system does root all over the body.

mine was directly concentrated on the painful area and worked.

Not its actually relaxes muscles, helped me anyway. Got it done all up my leg for my ankle injury.

But homeopathy is bullshit.

it's certainly not placebo, my dad is as skeptical as they come and she treated his chronic headaches and sleep disorders

so he talked me into going

This is one of those life changing experiences

I went to get a hair cut the other day and I didn't feel tense going into the store and I was actually able to carry a conversation with the stylist.

I've had 3 sessions and every time I come out more relaxed and pleasant feeling than before and the nerve in my back is acting up less.

I really wish I had heard about this before I started taking all those nasty pills.

If you want quantifiable proof bring in a blood pressure gauge and watch it drop.
