hello everything

i tried listening to this album loads when it came out but i always turned it off after a while, unsatisfied. i'm listening to it all the way through today and it just kinda pops and makes. not only am i enjoying the music more but i can feel the flow of tracks/ track order.

great stuff. now if only i could get into JAS, but that's a different thread.

at first, i didn't particularly care for how the middle of the album flowed ( the vacuum garden, circlewave 2, cronecker king section), but i kind of get it now. the rotate electrolyte/welcome to europe/plotinus combo owns, so i can see the relative downtime needed before the shit hits the fan.

My first Squarepusher album, quite fun!

I miss the crazy drums from the Go Plastic and earlier but I like it a lot either way.

kind of a continuation of the tundra4 epicness, but minus the mind bending drum programming.

reminds me of a very shitty year...

still i think it's his best album!

It's highly underrated. The drums are just there for the tunes to rest on, and the tunes are quite nice. Sounds like he was just playing and having some fun on this one. JAS takes fun to the next level, or something <---probably my favorite SP release.

Rotate Electrolyte is my favorite off this. Nice friendly little melody that reminds me of Tequila Fish.

First Squarepusher album that I really liked all the way through. I only like the odd track on his other albums, couldn't get into him at all. Honestly find them a bit aloof or just distanced somehow, whereas Hello Everything is infectious. It's brilliant from Rotate Electrolyte till the end. Welcome to Europe is amazing, Plotinus is even more amazing, The Modern Bass Guitar is awesome, and Orient Orange is incredible.

Hanningfield Window and Exciton, the two tracks released at Welcome to Europe single are a must listen too.

It will happen, yek. And yeah, I agree on the underrated greatness of Hello Everything. The little drop in pace in the middle is essential to the whole album, and make it what it is. And Hello Meow, yeah...
