MacBook Users: Turn off This Bluetooth Default Setting Now

Recommended Posts

disable "wake on bluetooth"!

I just opened my backpack to find my macbook had been on and running for the last hour. The CPU temperature must have been pretty close to 90c, the laptop itself was too hot to hold. Somehow it still works, thanks to the giant unibody heatsink, I guess.

Today's lesson: Don't change your bluetooth mouse batteries after putting your laptop in your backpack, unless you want it to wake up and potentially start a fire.

waht are you talking about ? I've got this programm called InsomniaX that prevents your macbook from shutting down when you fold it. I never had to worry about the temperature although i never really used this app.

Do you keep it in a case, inside your backpack, while it's running?

The thing was so hot it was locked up. I had to manually restart it with the power button.

I did it a few times but not for more than 15 minutes. On InsomniaX' website a few people said they used it all night long without any problem. I have an old macbook that is not in an unibody thingy so maybe the problem comes from a lack of ventilation.

anyway thanks for the info, i have a friend who has one of the newest macbooks and he's using a bluetooth mouse

the macbook doesn't go to hibernation when you close the lid or why would you need some special app? please explain.

yes it does, automatically, and some devices can make him up when he's still in fetal position. But you use some app to disable the automatic hibernation, if for instance you are lacking of space at home and want to but your macbook under the bed or on some shelf whilst downloading pron at night.
