slightly reticent to bring it up but..

so been a fan of the superman legend since about 4 or 5 years old.

aged about seven, started reading the comics, not just superman, but superboy and all the affiliated franchise crap.

i'm 37 now, and i've been watching smallville since the start.

i'd be the first to admit it was kinda sanitised and hokey to start with, but it's got darker and darker, series by series... (aside: the development of the luther/kent relationship has been pretty incredible)

just saw the first episode of the new series... no hokiness, no 'down-home'

zod makes an appearance for the first time ( i love the cross casting.. the voice of jor-el is terence stamp who played zod in the movies... margot kidder (original lois lane) made an appearance a few series back.)

(not to mention the dukes of hazard episode where tom wopat ahowed up (jon 'bo duke' schneider is now superboy's dad))

anyway, i imagine i'll have flak directed at this post from those who gave up half way through series two because it wasn't great

HOWEVER...

this series continues to descend into the darkside... becomes more and more adult with every new series.

any fans?

I haven't watched them all, but did watch the first few series on TV, very good and good eye candy in it.

as a vague aside, for the purposes of context, i thought farscape was also awesomes.

imma not going to criticise because i'm presently addicted to the original CSI

never watched csi.

i hear good things.

i didn't want to be that blunt.

i'm not going to force you, but it's pretty good... true to the mythology, but modernised.

pretty dark stuff sometimes.
