Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
So I have been wanting to use looping for shows and do more than just loop input I want to be able to decide okay I'm gonna start off with a vocal loop, then loop my bass player, have him do a lead line loop that, then loop my guitar and still be able to continue jamming, take out a loop and bring it back later etc. in performance scenario's The best thing I think I have found is Zone Mobius but its pretty complex, I like that you tweak it so much and do scripting but I'm pretty good at figuring shit out even as a clueless ignoramus but I had such a hard time figuring it out. Got a show on the 1st, was thinkin bout buying a looping pedal, but it wont do the job, we need to be able to loop multiple things separately. Im gonna buy a mixer so that we can take things in and out of auxiliary sends to control what gets looped etc. I've seen Ableton live looping functionality a few years ago and it looked way to like it had way too little possibilities. I just read that MOTU digital performers polar module has some good live software loop capability but not sure if its gonna do what I want. If I cant figure out a solution Im gonna have to try and figure zone mobius out again and im pretty sure I will fail once more if I do Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/57159-multitrack-live-looping-software/ Share on other sites
BCM
I'm no expert on this but you can get 4 track (and probably more) looping pedals...beardyman uses something similar... Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
The problem with record multiple instruments (vocals, bass, guitar, eventually maybe looping separate samples from traktor etc.) is that I need to be able to have them going into an aux out that I can select which instrument to loop separately. You know, Im gonna record the guitar into the looper and then turn it to 10 on the aux channel, then record a vocal loop and turn the guitar completely down on the aux and then turn vocals up... then record a loop of guitars bass and vocals at the same time and turn them all up on the aux out. I basically need the looper to be silent when its not actually playing the loops ive already recorded, and I know I can do that with software. I dont think a hardware pedal will give me that possibility. This 4 track looper pedal does look pretty cool but I actually don't think it will give me what I want because of the above reason even if I did have 500 plus buckarooni's to spend. beariksson
Looper in Ableton Live? (I think it was new in Live 8) http://www.ableton.com/pages/live_8/announcement/looper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5j55ltY8u4 theres lots of other videos on youtube Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide beariksson's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/57159-multitrack-live-looping-software/#findComment-1350824 Share on other sites
Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
yeh I've seen Live looping before I didn't know Ableton's looper actually let you do multiple track loops like that, kinda cool (lol I love how uninspired and cheeseball demonstration's like that are)((and most of the time they don't seem like they practiced the process much at all) I probably will end up using Live's looper functionality if I cant figure zone mobius. Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
btw this is what Zone Mobius looks like, it models after the Gibson Echoplex or something but has so many scripting and other possibilities. It might be the only thing that gives me what I want in the end. I'm definitely gonna go over all my option's in the next few days and try everything I think might work. Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
just spent a while at guitar center trying to figure out any easy solution to this.. indeed none of their hardware loopers will let your input be silent and only produce output from the actual loop, they didnt have any simple few button usb midi controllers to control a software unit.. gonna have to do some more research and order some shit, damnt Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/57159-multitrack-live-looping-software/#findComment-1351220 Share on other sites
Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
gotta get these things to do what I want with abelton live looper or any vst looper Behringer XENYX 1204USB USB Mixer $129.99 and then I will be able to control the auxiliary outputs of my choosing to go into one channel for the looping but I cant decide if I want get one of the new obscure usb foot controllers or use this to hook up an midi foot controller to usb M-Audio USB Midisport Uno MIDI Interface (already have this) $36.62 to this Behringer FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller FCB-1010 $122.10 or do this lol Get loopy with the DIY $10 Ableton Footcontroller (no soldering required)((fuckin break out the key on keyboard and space em for your foot)) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/57159-multitrack-live-looping-software/#findComment-1351499 Share on other sites

Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
I got a line 6 DL4 pedal that has 28 seconds length for looping up to like 11 layers before it gets mushy, its a challenge to get everything really tight without any qauntizing. I figure it would be nice to have hardware looping so if we have problem with our computer (which is already going to be doing a lot more) for a song we could make an orchestra of loops with our pedals. We have been messing around with using the aux/fx returns for the looper to be able to select different things to go to the looper. Surprisingly it doesn't feed back at all but you can hear some phasing which is kinda weird and makes the track your trying to loop louder a bit. Like your saying A/D you can turn down the return until your ready to play the loops but its a lot of knob twiddling when your playing guitar and singing even then it doesn't solve all the problems that would be fixed if the looper just did send anything back until it was playing the loop. Pretty much think we might end up getting a few more loop pedals which is kind of expensive but I dunno. I would like to have software looping qauntizing and able to program complex sequences cause we really are trying to eventually compose entirely from looping. I wish there was more solutions out there. Hopefully I really get used to using the pedal looper enough that it gets really fucking tight and we can actually imagine looping 4 different pedals really well in sync. Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
Max does audio tracking looping? you can make your own units or something? just to be clear we are mostly trying to loop live guitar, bass, quick punched in percussion and vocal layers Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/57159-multitrack-live-looping-software/#findComment-1365537 Share on other sites
