Basically, at this point, if you like to sit and play games, Kinect is not for you. Hopefully they will address this glaring issue so people disabled below the waist and people who cannot stand for long periods of time (not to mention those of us who really don't want to stand for several hours while playing Call of Duty or Forza Motorsport) can actually utilize their new peripheral.

At this point in time, no - hopefully a firmware update can fix that. In fact, I have no idea how do you brake and accelerate in Forza if you're not using your feet anymore. The demo they initially showed when Natal (aka Kinect) debuted was a guy using his foot to brake/accelerate.

maybe it uses voice commands and you yell out "VROOOOOM VROOOOM" to accelerate and make screeching sounds to brake.

the only thing I can think of Kinect being useful for is head tracking in FPS'/racing games etc. kinda like this thing:

What games will be fun with kinect? I cant be fucked to hold a pretend steering wheel, wave to the tv or run on the spot.

The best use I can think of for this is if they make a game where you control a huge godzilla type monster/giant mech and can stomp around flattening buildings and swatting away puny humans

i want to play a game called virtual waving. There are 3 different waving scenarios and depending on the quality of the wave you are rewarded with up to 4 differently coloured leather gloves.

i strongly dislike motion sensitivity based games.

agreed.. gaming is about drinking beer and eating chips. if i want to jump around, i'll go outside and play street hockey or take up a martial art or something

We had this poster at work in our break area that had a picture of a businesswoman in a wheelchair at a desk with a computer, and the headline read: "Some of our best employees have their own chair"

I put a note up on it saying "gee, this isn't offensive in the least, is it?"

A week later, the poster was taken down.

I don't really understand the reason that brought up that poster on the wall. It just gives a bad impression to the company.

the only time this would bother me would be racing games; Joyride, Forza. anything else i can deal with but yeah that needs to get fixed.
