I really don't understand the hype... her music isn't that cool, alright for pop not great... also she makes my least attractive and similar looking girlfriend(Edit:ex-girlfriend)((thank god not anymore)) seem like a victoria secret model

i'd go but i dont want to spend at least 100 bux on tickets/transportation and waste a whole day seeing the maybe 3 people playing at lilith that i actually want to see.

this isn't some fucking underground artist that isn't getting enough respect, she is extremely over hyped in my opinion and I honestly wanted to know why people think she deserves it.

and no I didn't think it was gonna be super duper IDM respect cool to post a jpeg of poop in here. its pretty much the least cool/ambitious/idm way to express my disapproval. not trying to be a bad ass I honestly was wanting people to defend her, I want to understand why she is blowing up

She's 80's synth pop (sort of), what did you think was going to happen.

As I said, I'd go to see her for a few quid. The show would be entertaining and plenty of youngins. I'd imagine it would be a good way to spend a night. But tickets are going to be fucking loads.

i dunno, im not overexposed to her and i haven't seen much hype (albeit im in the states and i pay very little attention to whats popular,) i just don't see the point in bitching about music i don't really like. it's a tour announcement thread, not a "what do you think of la roux" thread.

she's blowing up because of marketing, that much should be obvious. does she deserve it? i dunno. i don't care, really. i like her album and hope she puts out more like it and that's about it.

I dont live in America. If it was 15 euro to an Irish show, I would well go. Its pretty much a night club entry fee like.

I will openly admit that bulletproofs chorus stayed stuck in my head in and out for a bit

but this is the only current la roux thread no fucking point in making a new one or bringing back some old one just to say I don't get the hype at all

there have been two threads that discussed pretty in depth why people do or don't like her. i assumed you'd seen them since someone posted a similar poop picture. so i assumed you were just threadshitting because you felt like it. apologies for that.

i like her because i like her voice and i like synthpop. not a whole lot more to it than that.

damn, that's lucky for you. i'd have to actually go to lilth fair and tix are nearly 40 bucks to sit on the lawn way at the back and barely be able to see anything.

No thats what I mean, it's not going to be 15 quid. Shes quite popular so its going to be a fuck load. But like I paid 10 quid to see DMX Krew and Ceephax on separate occasions.

Edit: Even Autechre was only 20 quid to get in, and in one of my favourite venues(same place I saw Squarepusher).

Few good tracks on I think anyway.

the first track off that the bulletproof remix is pretty mediocre to me. The Piano and the violin pretty cheesy and the melodies don't lock in with the vocals that well. The beat is really good production for all intensive purposes but definitely isn't grooving with the vocals. Speaking of which I don't know why the processed the vocals like that.

Next track colourless sounds much less phoned in. the vocals actually seem fitting and everything is pretty groovin
