israel is starting to piss me off

i have been in israel for the past week and a half. i am agnostic, open-minded, and generally have a favorable view of jewish people. but i have to say, i am starting to get pissed off! i'm in my hotel room and i can hear a bunch of people singing hebrew religious shit loudly, waking the whole goddamn hotel up, and i want nothing more than one of them to be rude me me so i have an excuse to punch someone in the face. this shit is constant. been going on the whole time i am here, and it is starting to test my patience. the hotel bills itself as four star but it's really fucking ghetto. they claim to serve lunch and dinner, but i've never actually managed to get it here. yet, it's almost 11pm and people are all merry in the fucking courtyard. some people just checked into the room next to me and yell in hebrew all the time. a place charged me 12 sheckles for one slice of pizza one day, then 26 sheckes for two slices the next. people drive like assholes.

so voting to cut US/Israel aid.

i've been sorely tempted to drop a beer bottle out the window into the courtyard where all the assholes are yelling and singing. THAT probably would get me arrested.

instead i called down to the front desk and politely asked if they could ask the people to please quiet down. have little faith it'll help.

I remember being in Singapore and hearing the dawn call to prayer for the muslims whilst being ferociously drunk (mosque near the hotel), that was some eerie, otherworldly yet somehow very powerful and awesome stuff.

after living in indonesia for one year I can tell you the morning call to prayer gets old fast
