question about usb turntables

can you play the vinyl straight from your computer or are usb turntables just for converting?

EKT questionish but I'm 90% they are made just for converting to digital 01010101000101010

k, sorry if this is in the wrong forum. seems like they should be able to play through computer speakers but whatever..

I guess I didn't get the question but I can nearly guarantee you will be able to hear through the computer speakers when its playing/recording in some fashion

ok cool. ive got some decent speakers on my computer so i think ill just use my computer to play vinyl.. my guess is most people with home stereo systems will be phased out within the next four to five years.. i mean it seems like all media is (and will be) consumed through everyones cpu

sure theres a niche market for vinyl it but seems like not long from now we'll all be consuming media through one source as apposed to two (i.e. the computer instead of t.v. and stereo)
