Great stuff. But I think it could indicate why BoC don't bother making music as BoC anymore - Some of the immitators are doing it just as good! If BoC were to make another BoC like album (which is what we all want) people will now be saying it sounds a lot like Ciaran Byrne et al!! Anyway, when is the Ciaran Byrne album out?! I'm buying it

..... ordered both the Ciaran Byrne albums. This stuff is brilliant. One of the best things about this forum is discovering new BoC like artists. Sadly actually talking about BoC has slipped down the list somewhat behind trolling, talking absolute gob shite & throwing dummies out of prams everytime someone dares to mention an actual new BoC release!

Seriously - the guy clearly indicates he's influenced by BoC's classic sound, and not to put him down at all, I hardly think people are going to say the new BoC material sounds like some other artist - as the ridiculous statement that BoC don't "bother" making music anymore because everyone else is aping their sound. Just because BoC haven't put out a release for you to consume does not equal them not "bothering" to make music.

 

And what's really laughable is the notion that BoC created this "sound" to begin with - they just put their spin on it and brought it back to the consciousness.

yeah, the whole album is great. most boc-inspired artists tends to go too far in one direction, overemphasizing something to the point of parody. ciaran is genuinely good music. probably the best i've heard in this genre.

I'd rather say they've not been bothering to release the music they've most definitely did make the last couple of years. And even then it's not being delayed by them but rather by Warp, I reckon.

Any evidence to support it being WARP, and not the Music70 boys behind the delays? I can't imagine what would cause WARP to delay one of their most profitable artists on the label...

Ah I see what you mean now No disrepsect but you have no idea what BoC have been doing over the last 2 years. They could have been sitting in a darkened room masturbating on acid for all we know!! Or they could have moved to Ireland & changed their name to Ciaran Byrne. Ooooh wah!!! Personaly I think 3 BoC albums is quite enough & its time to move on

Without a doubt. He's carved his own niche from the sub-genre BoC created. It's clearly hugely inspired by BoC but this guy is doing his own thing as well & it's stunning.

i guess i can definitely see why this stuff appeals to you guys so much. but aren't the similarities just a little too intentional for you?

 

if the track weren't bad enough, the video is just ridiculous. emulating is one thing. but outright trying to pass for boc is pretty , no matter how well done it might be.
