Ableton's Sampler - Velocity option?

oh yeah, thanks a lot.

While we are here, is there like an automatic way of having a bunch of samples only take up one key note at a time? I realise you can click 'distribute ranges equally' but this spreads them out onto the whole keyboard so then you have to resize each and every one of them.

I don't use a lot of samples inside individual Samplers, but this is the quickest way I know:

  1. select all of the samples in the Zone tab,
  2. grab the sample that's furthest to the right and drag it all the way to the left on the piano grid - the other samples will move with it,
  3. do the same with the right-hand brace of any sample to shrink them all to a single note on the piano,
  4. select the sample at the top of the list, then go down the list and move them across the piano grid, one at a time, using the arrow keys on the keyboard.

Hopefully that makes sense. It's actually quicker than it sounds.

Personally, I'd use drum racks to automatically lay a bunch of samples across the keyboard. I think you can drop something like 128 all at once. Plus, you can set up the cells in drum racks to be Samplers or Simplers. That might be the way to go, unless you need all of the samples inside one instance of Sampler for some reason. Hope that helps.

Yeah, I've been able to resize them all to each key size but then you have to move them all to each key and it's such a time waster when you have to do this to 3 - 4 sets of samples on 3 - 4 tracks.

I'm shocked ableton are shit enough not to include this "feature".
