Electribe pattern changes

Today I've been trying to get my Electribe MX-1 to listen to my Electribe SX-1's pattern changes via midi. My setup is ESX midi out going into EMX midi in with both of their midi filters set to accept program changes. The midi clocks sync up fine like this, but if i change patterns on the ESX the EMX remains on the pattern it was initially playing. What am I doing wrong? I remember this working for me a few months ago.

did you remember to plug them into the power? there's your problem
