coolest july 4th ever!

my friend works as a body-picker-upper, so we're hangin out for a bit earlier today and they get a page, its an easy one so i get to come along! helped loading, we finish up and make it up to the top of a big butte in town to watch fireworks, only to get another page 2 minutes after we sit down, so we go back and get directions, take off, i'm in the house with my friend, the cop and the family and the big guy on the floor, help bring him to the van, to the fridge place, saw the other bodies in the fridge, saw 3 of their faces, wow! interesting july 4th! anybody else have experience with this kind of stuff?

Ya man, I've done body retrieval in my job. Totally weird to see that side of life/death for the first time. Kudos to you for having a good stomach for it.

Dead bodies feel like cold, stuffed, loose skinned turkey.

Two people I worked with at my last job had experience doing this although only one of them had some really good stories to share with us. One of them involved having to break down the door to a tiny closet-size toilet to find this guy lying dead in a pool of blood with ski goggles on and duct tape all around the door and every forseeable crack around the window. If I remember to check back here later I'll post what had happened

one of my clients shared a rather gruesome story with me. Apparently his uncle is a "cleaner" who gets calls from police after messy deaths to take care of the what's left. My client tagged along once. the guy died in his house at the start of the summer and had rotted away over 3 months in the heat before anybody found him. client said the house was absolutely infested with flies and maggots so that a hundred had to move every time you took a step. the guy had pretty much melted into the floor I guess and everything had permadeath smell. he also said that a neighbor stopped by one day while they were working and took a bottle of rum that had been there all that time left open on the table beside rotted infested food and whatever... he said that the dude owed him a bottle.

my client said he's not vomited more in his life and quit after a few days on the job.

July 4th sucks for us English peeps..

i mean why don't we get to party and celebrate the fact that we don't have fuck all to with America and the French and the descendants of Mr. George (British?) Washington, lol.. ??????????????

we in England and the UK should celebrate just as much as the Yanks!!!!!!!! :)

cool man, I used to work just 2 blocks down from house of records at the bijou, today I was mostly going back and forth down river road and 5th/6th, the weather's been great for biking I should be doing more of that too..

I worked doing first call duty at a funeral home when I first moved to Texas (I had originally came here to go to funeral director's school). Job didn't bother me as such, but I was glad when I met Mrs. Joyrex and she convinced me to go to graphic design school instead.

ok so assuming someone is interested - this guy had taken some charcoal briquettes (sp?) into the bathroom with him, blocked off all the cracks around the door etc, lit the charcoal on fire in the hope of asphyxiating (sp?) to death. He eventually lost conciousness and hit his head on the toilet and I think eventually bled out. They decided he must have been wearing ski goggles to avoid the smoke irritating his eyes.

Yes, because there's nothing worse than having red, irritated eyes when you're trying to off yourself
