Guest mollekula
Hi guys, im a BCR2000 newbie, i bought it last week and gonna need some help. i read a little piece of info in the manual, downloaded BC manager and a few presets from the Behringer website. i used the Native Instruments Pro-53 preset to experiment and sent it to my BCR2000. i loaded the plugin in my Cubase SX3 and it worked, i mean the controls on the VSTi interface corresponded while i was tweaking BCR controls. then newbie as i am, since i dont know yet how to create a preset of my own from scratch for any VST, i used the very same Pro-53 preset to modify it for another VSTi, needless to say that when i sent the preset to BCR and loaded the other plugin, the only control that was working was the "volume", since i guess volume control number is "CC 07" for every VST or the majority (im just guessing). it took me 3 hours to find out the rest of controls, trying every number from 0 to 127 control by control, though i didnt manage to find 4-5 controls to my disappointment, is it possible these control numbers are above 127 which is the last on CC type and thats why i didnt find them? So, my questions are: 1. what is the way to find out what is the exact control number for each knob and any other control on the VSTi interface so that i dont have to try every single CC number for hours and hours 2. what is the procedure to program a VST FX or Cubase mixer faders etc? because these experiments i made were for a VSTi 3. a question for push button encoder, i managed to program the push buttons using Toggle On in the BC Manager menu and Value 1 (0) Value 2 (70 or 127). for those buttons on the interface that have 2 working positions it worked fine, but some buttons use more than 2 positions, some use up to 10, so how do i program this button parameter so that it changes every time i push the same button? 4. NRPN, is the same or similar programming with CC type? what do i do to program this way? i still have to do some serious reading, but id appreciate it if you people could enlighten me here with these questions of mine and put me on the right path so i can make the most of BCR2000. thank you in advance Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/57706-programming-bcr2000-controller-with-vst/ Share on other sites
o00o
I used the BCR2000 with logic on os x and it worked by setting it to midi learn and then moving the sliders. it was far from this complicated as you describe it. I did install the drivers first and then followed the steps for setting up midi interfaces in the logic manual. ableton live works the same - you just bring it into midi lern mode and then turn or move the sliders you want to assign while selecting the software module you want it to be assigned to Edited July 5, 2010 by o00o Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide o00o's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/57706-programming-bcr2000-controller-with-vst/#findComment-1366350 Share on other sites
Hautlle
o00o's got it right, No reason to change all the CC's of the knobs unless you're writing a custom template. Just use the MIDI learn mode in Cubase (if it has one?) I've never used Cubase, so I can't really tell you any more, but I'd definitely say you're making it much harder than it needs to be. Guest mollekula
thanx guys, even though it took me a while to understand this midi learn thingy i finally managed to link my BCR to some VST and VSTi plugins, i still have many questions and a lot to learn but im glad my first baby step is done. its wonderful some plugins have this 'learn' ability. any tips to assign those plugs that do not have 'midi learn'?
