Guest theSun
yeah i wonder how quick these sites will be back up and how much taxpayer capital was invested to take them offline temporarily. the first thought has me optimistic, the second... very unhappy. Ego Posted July 7, 2010 Report Share Edit Hide Delete Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Reading some comments on Slashdot: Quote More recently in 2008, Kentucky courts seized the domain names for 141 online gambling sites (all for companies based in other countries including Malta and Costa Rica). The Kentucky court action threatened to disrupt global traffic to PokerStars, Full Tilt, Absolute Poker and many others. As of March of this year the case is still winding its way through Kentucky appellate and supreme court (the case has been reversed then upheld and is currently resolving issues of standing). So the US government can order ICANN to hand them domain names that belong to someone in another country? Or are the domains registered in the US? What if I register a .com in some lawless country and host from a server located in that country? That should stop them right? Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
I'm finishing The Wire at the moment, the highest quality series of the past I've saved for last, downloading from megaupload and hotfile links posted on scene release sites. Pretty soon its gonna be a huge monstrosity of a bitch to get copyrighted material. Just watch, net neutrality will be gone. ISPs will have full control on order to stop this stuff. The end of the golden age in piracy has begun I'm glad I have fully exploited it before it was too late all those that think nah there will always be a way, your half right but pretty soon the process to get pirated shit is gonna be harder to accomplish than sucking my moms dick.
