Now you tell me! Reckon you'd be able to chuck in any little freebies for those nice people who pre-ordered early from yourselves...?

anyone who's ordered directly before knows we have a tendency to throw extra things in the postbag....

some press & dj feedback...

“Very nice, very nice”

ANDREW WEATHERALL

"The best new techno I've heard for ages"

Mark Bell / LFO

"thoughtful banging smashers!"

LUKE VIBERT

“Great stuff”

ROB DA BANK (Radio 1)

"Syn Emergence is a lovingly textured album with all the detail you would hope for from Posthuman. Chunky mixes with splendid quacking basslines. Favourites are the bleak tones of Stockholm Syndrome Pt1 and the hardcore drama of Eruder. Fine posthuman shapes in all"

ED HANDLEY / PLAID

"one of the releases of the year so far"

STRICTLY KEV / DJ FOOD

"Bases covered, dancefloor destroyed, production impeccable and dirt on a stick thoroughly dipped, this is one hell of an album!"

MARK ARCHER / ALTERN8

"PostHuman's new album is the Quantum Leap of Dance Music. From warehouse vibes to sleazy dub, broken beats to menacing techno, after each good deed, you never know what electro-groove will turn up next.

This is an album for those expect a little more from dance music"

DAVE CLOUGH (MR. NO HANDS / MIXMAG)

"dazzling electronica with more than a filthy twist"

CLASH

"rave powered brit-tech of the highest calibre"

KONE-R / SPANNERED.ORG

“Yep, I really like it. Thanks for sending it over. It's somehow familiar and original at the same time, great stuff; we will support in our sets 100%”

SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO

"Cutting edge Techno album from Posthuman, real quality production and effort has gone into this project and the results and sound show. With a mixture of some quite hard tracks and some real sublime musical tracks, this one is a keeper. Atmospheric, spaced out, glitchy, abstract, out of the box, crisp, punchy, rollout - all words we like, get this!"

ATM

"I really like it - been playing it in the car a lot. Great sound -

zippy, fat and funked-up. Very Dave Clarke Red Series in parts, but no less enjoyable for it! It’s an album with a very strong identity - so much techno I hear now sounds very samey, the whole minimal thing really sucked the soul out of it.

So, second best techno album I've heard this year (after 'Tronic Jazz - The Berlin Sessions' by A Guy Called Gerald)"

Ben O’Faolain (RTE Radio / Radio 1 Ireland)

Really looking forward to this album now, and this is also the first picture disc I'll have bought since Prince's 'Kiss' 7". Have they shipped yet?

@ omz - thanks for the kind feedback

@ carestik - yes, they have begun shipping. If you bought direct from Balkan Vinyl, you should have gotten some extra download codes with your confirmation email.

Yes I did, and thank you very much!.

P.S. This is an embarrassingly sad question, but when I add them to the rest of the album digitally, where would they best fit? Right at the end after the rest of the album, or in the middle (as they're tagged as tracks 4 and 5)? Needless I know, but I'm anal like that :emb:.

Ahh, thanks for letting me know.

I'll have to check that in Bandcamp....

Should be tracks 9 (Le Lac) and 10 (Mayak)

After my first listen, this is a great album, much more direct and rather different from the previous albums. The packaging is a work of art too, glad I didn't just settle for downloading. Kind of reminds me of The Cocteaus' 'Head Over Heels' and 'Sunburst and Snowblind' in a way. I'll definitely be getting the Goon album on vinyl when that comes out (any idea of a release date yet?).

Also jph, are the other 'coloured' variations of the first Posthuman album ever likely to be made available as well the Grey and Blue versions?

Yep, it's very different from previous albums, but to be fair, we haven't written an 'album' together for about 5 years - the People's Republic was done in Rich's spare room over the summer of 2005 in Edinburgh, very much sitting down with cups of tea, guitars and keyboards, and getting deep into jamming out proper songs - which we then remixed and that became the album.

With Syn Emergence, we had the artwork in mind before even starting to put it together; Rich finished his (second) degree @ the Bartlett, and his final piece was the original Syn Emergence video. We wanted to expand on that, so we set up studio and began writing. the studio had no chairs (seriously - just 300 square feet with keyboards on stands and a big desk) and we had to work at night, so we were kind of jumping about getting drunk the whole time, hence the album being so hard. Really good fun.

Goon album is being mastered, and LCI are doing the artwork (http://www.lowercaseindustry.com/home.htm). If all goes to plan, late this year (Oct/Nov) but if there are complications - which often there are - it might go on hold until Feb 2011.

As for the old Posthuman stuff - I don't think any of those will ever see the light of day again. A lot of the tracks / versions have been lost anyways, we did so many different variations on that CD that I have no idea what all the tracklistings even are. I found a blue one a few years back and put the tracks up on last.fm for free download, but I haven't seen a black or brown one for about 10 years now.

Thanks for that jph, Interesting to hear how those two albums came about, explains one reason why they're so different! Pity about the old stuff, but I imagine the blue and grey albums pretty much cover that area well enough.

And congratulations again on Syn Emergence and the colours series, nice to know that people still care about the physical side of record releasing. Hope there are plenty more BV releases to look forward to in the future.

Ooh, *NICE* goodies in my package from Interstellar Sounds! I got the Lagrange Point CD and the Hilda Family Remixes CD. The latter is numbered #001/200! Does that mean you never sold a single copy of it? Or were in fact all copies numbered 001?

Fantastic artwork on Syn Emergence, will treat myself to a proper listen later tonight when my kid's in bed... (I did allow myself one listen on Spotify last week, so I already know how good it is!) Thanks very much, Posthuman people, you've made my day!

We gave Interstellar a handful of older releases, just randomly grabbed off the shelves.

lucky you, got 001 of 200 :-)

didn't realise I'd given them #001.

Hope I've kept number #200 then for the scrapbook...
